We are going to court—moot court, of course. And we will be debating with each other to earn our grades. Normally, I would be spending time inside my head cursing back at this idea for being an inordinate expenditure of time and effort for a minor subject.
But now, I have a different agenda and it is the opportunistic kind. Apparently, everything looks rosy and even mundane occurrences look like opportunities. What can I say? I am now a writer and a publisher. So, I try to find the slant that will make a story more interesting.
Anyway, later tonight, some of my classmates delivered their mini-speeches on their assigned topics. I was slow at first to recognize what was happening in front of me, but a few arguments later, I took out my camera and started recording a video clip of the speaker. I just remembered that I was also now a reporter and movie director. Anyway, after speaker number two, I was running out of memory space so I kept reducing the size of the video clips. Whatever the resolution of video clips, the important thing was to have a complete record of the event.
Fortunately, I was able to record the performances of all the speakers. After that, I could have continued recording the professor's comments when she finally took the stand, but I didn't want to risk a public reprimand so I was content with my scoop for the day.
I went home exploring my thoughts as to the best role I can play during the debates. I have not settled on any, but I would probably choose a role where I would be at my strongest.
